The paper
We are looking for an Account Executive - Newsletter Sales, to help increase advertising revenue across our newsletter portfolio. This role focuses on outbound sales, top of funnel generation, sponsorship prospecting, closing, and building a repeatable pipeline of advertisers and partners.
This role is for someone who is not only good at sales, but also works natively with AI every day.
We want someone who actively uses Claude and AI tools on a daily basis and is very comfortable using AI to automate, accelerate, and improve core sales workflows. That includes prospect research, account prioritization, contact discovery, outbound support, personalization, follow-up writing, sales process organization, and overall top-of-funnel execution.
This is not a traditional sales role based on completely manual work. We're specifically looking for someone who naturally thinks, "How can I use AI to do this faster, better, and on a larger scale?" The right candidate will combine strong sales instincts with fluency in AI and a constant drive to improve efficiency through systems, prompts and workflow automation.
What you will do
Own outbound sponsorship sales efforts across Mode Mobile Media newsletter brands.
Create a pipeline by identifying relevant advertisers, agencies and sponsor partners
Generate top-of-funnel activity through research, prospecting, and outbound execution.
Use Claude daily to improve and accelerate sales workflows
Use AI to support list building, prospect research, targeting, outreach preparation, personalization, follow-up writing, and sales process management.
Create repeatable AI-assisted workflows that help scale output volume without sacrificing quality.
Identify better ways to automate sales development work and reduce manual effort.
Work with leadership to refine prospect lists, outreach angles, packaging, and prioritization.
Stay close to our brands, audiences and sponsorship offers so outreach is relevant and well-positioned.
Maintain a strong organization in all outreach, pipeline and prospecting activities.
Help build a more scalable, AI-enabled outbound engine for newsletter sponsorship revenue
who are you
Experience in sales, business development, media sales, advertising sales, sponsorships, partnerships or newsletter monetization.
Strong outbound prospecting capability and comfort in building a channel from scratch.
A genuinely AI-native working style, not just a superficial familiarity with AI tools.
Daily Claude users strongly preferred. You will also be provided access to artificial intelligence tools.
Experience using Claude or similar tools to support actual sales work, not just general writing.
Clear ability to use AI to improve research, workflow speed, personalization, top-of-funnel results, and sales execution.
Good written English and ability to create effective and concise outbound messages.
Highly organized, resourceful and able to operate independently.
Comfortable testing new messages, workflows, and systems to improve results over time
Able to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a strong bias toward action.
