You will contribute to industrial data projects that require reliable, secure, and scalable database platforms. You’ll work within a production-focused, engineering-first culture where databases are treated as core systems. While AI is applied selectively to improve operations, all work adheres to strict guardrails, traceability, and production safety. This role sits at the intersection of database engineering, platform operations, and AI-assisted tooling to reduce manual toil and improve operational leverage across our client deployments.

What You’ll Do
Design, operate, and support both relational and non-relational database platforms in production environments.
Own backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster-recovery strategies and execution.
Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and reliability improvements.
Support migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives for database estates.
Operate cloud-native and hybrid database platforms in AWS or Azure.
Apply infrastructure-as-code and standardized provisioning patterns for database systems.
Collaborate with Platform and Infrastructure teams to ensure consistency, safety, and scalability.
Build and maintain AI agents and AI-assisted tools to support database workloads (investigation, monitoring, triage, runbooks).
Integrate AI agents with databases and internal APIs using production-safe patterns.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts.
Join on-call rotations and provide production support as needed.
Produce and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation; continuously improve tooling to reduce manual work.

Required Skills & Experience
We are seeking a hands-on AI Database Engineer with a strong foundation in database engineering and production operations. You should have 4–6 years of experience in database engineering or administration in production environments and be comfortable working across multiple database platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle). You will thrive in a fast-paced, globally distributed team, delivering reliable data services and helping to automate repetitive tasks with AI-assisted workflows.
Key capabilities:
Deep expertise in high availability, backup/restore, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
Proven experience operating cloud database services in AWS or Azure.
Strong scripting and automation skills; experience with IaC tooling (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and deployment pipelines.
Practical experience applying AI-assisted tools to support engineering or operational workflows in production.
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and incident response capabilities with a production-first mindset.
Solid understanding of data security, compliance, and data protection practices in regulated environments is a plus.
Collaborative mindset: ability to work with SRE/Platform Engineering, Application teams, and other stakeholders.

Nice to Have / Preferred Experience
Experience building internal tools or automation that integrates databases with AI-assisted systems; familiarity with agent-based or tool-oriented AI patterns used in production operations; exposure to SaaS, data-intensive environments, and regulated contexts. Prior work in data protection, privacy considerations, and security auditing is highly valued. Experience collaborating closely with SRE or Platform Engineering teams is a plus.
