Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Character Animator to work on creating and integrating high-level animations in a AAA video game development environment. The selected person will collaborate with art, design and programming teams to bring characters and animation systems to life within the game engine.
Responsibilities:
Report to the lead artist and collaborate with the lead technical animator to establish reliable animation workflows.
Create and integrate high-quality character animations into the game engine.
Apply animation principles to produce optimized animations that meet technical constraints and artistic direction.
Work with art, design and programming teams to align quality goals, gameplay and engine capabilities.
Prototype and preview animation systems to support design and development decisions.
Support the creation of in-game cutscenes and performance animations.
Solve technical and creative problems related to animation in production.
Requirements:
Animation production experience on at least one published AAA video game.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a senior animator position or equivalent.
Mastery of Maya and game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
Keyframe animation skills.
Knowledge of animation principles and their application in video games.
Passion for character animation, video games and cinema.
Experience in rigging and/or character modeling (valuable).
Knowledge of traditional art, anatomy and drawing (valuable).
Experience with motion capture pipelines (valuable).
Ability to work as a team, effective communication and deadline management.
Problem solving skills in production environments.
