Job Ad: Architectural Drafter & Project Submittal Coordinator (Mexico-Based, Full-Time, Remote)

Role: Architectural Drafter + Project Submittal / Administrative Support
Location: Remote (Mexico)
Schedule: Full time
Required software: ArchiCAD (advanced profession, non-negotiable)

About the Role
We are hiring a skilled Architectural Drafter who is also comfortable handling project submissions, city coordination, and client communication for residential projects in San Diego, California.
You will work closely with our lead architect (based in Mexico City) on producing high-quality construction drawings in ArchiCAD, and you will also support our US-based team with administrative tasks related to:
\ •\ Plan Verification Submittals
\ •\ Communicating with city reviewers
\ •\ Sending plans and updates to customers
\ •\ Managing project documentation
\ •\ Tracking comments and reviews
\ •\ Support enabling workflows
Responsibilities
Drafting (Approximately 50%)
\ •\ Produce and update architectural drawings in ArchiCAD
\ •\ Watch with ADU, duplex, multifamily and small home design plans
\ •\ Implement redlines, corrections, and updates from senior drafters and engineers
\ •\ Coordinated Design Sets for Structural, Title 24, and Other Consultants

Project Submittals & Administrative Support (Approximately 50%)
\ •\ Prepare plan-check submitted packages
\ •\ Communicate with city planning and construction reviewers
\ •\ Track comments, corrections, and due
\ •\ Upload and organize documents on platforms such as Accela, Google Drive, JobTread, etc.
\ •\ Email clients professionally and clearly in English
\ •\ Assist with diverse tasks to keep projects moving through design and permitting

Required Skills & Qualifications
\ •\ Advanced proficiency in ArchiCAD (not marketable)
\ •\ Fluent English — written and spoken (you will communicate with US customers and reviewers)
\ •\ Strength architecture drafting skills and understanding of residential construction
\ •\ Ability to write professional emails clearly and coherently
\ •\ Highly organized and detail-oriented
\ •\ Reliable internet, computer, and work setup
\ •\ Comfortable working U.S. business hours or overlapping time blocks
\ •\ Ability to follow established workflows and meet deadlines
\ •\ Proactive switch that asks questions when necessary

Preferred / Bonus Skills
\ •\ Experience with California ADUs, residential design, or permit processes
\ •\ Familiarity with Accela or similar online permitting portals
\ •\ Basic understanding of Title 24, structural plans, or plan verification processes
\ •\ Coordinating the experience with engineers or reviewers
\ •\ Strong admin skills: organizing files, tracking reviews, managing emails, etc.
\ •\ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at once
