Job Description

We are looking for a professional specialized in biology, ecology, environmental sciences, science education or related areas, with verifiable experience in Higher Secondary Education, to develop educational content aimed at high school students.

The person must have disciplinary strength in biology and ecology, particularly in the study of ecosystems, the interactions between living beings and their environment, energy flows, cycles of matter and the processes that explain the dynamics and transformation of ecological systems.

In addition to the conceptual domain, we are looking for a profile capable of converting scientific content into contextualized learning experiences, preventing the study of biology from being reduced to the memorization of concepts, classifications or definitions.

Responsibilities
• Develop theoretical content and activities related to ecosystems, biodiversity, ecological interactions, energy flow, cycles of matter and dynamics of natural systems.
• Explain biological and ecological concepts with scientific rigor and language appropriate for Higher Secondary Education students.
• Relate the contents to environmental phenomena, environmental problems and everyday situations that allow us to understand the functioning of ecosystems.
• Integrate examples of local, national and global ecosystems, considering the biological and environmental diversity of Mexico.
• Design contextualized activities that allow the student to observe, analyze, interpret data, establish cause and consequence relationships, and explain ecological phenomena.
• Incorporate resources such as case studies, models, graphs, tables, diagrams, maps, observation records and other resources relevant to science learning.
• Promote the analysis of processes such as changes in populations, trophic relationships, environmental alterations, resilience, ecological succession and ecosystem transformation.
• Collaborate with the Pedagogy and Editing areas and address observations derived from the editorial process.
• Comply with established guidelines, formats, schedules and delivery dates.

Academic training
Bachelor's degree completed, preferably, in:
• Biology.
• Ecology.
• Environmental engineering.
• Biotechnology, when you have sufficient experience in ecology or biology teaching.
• Teaching of Biology.

Profiles in Education, Pedagogy or related areas may also be considered when they accredit disciplinary training or sufficient professional experience in biology, ecology or science teaching.

Essential experience
• Verifiable teaching or professional experience in Higher Secondary Education.
• Mastery of content related to ecology, biodiversity, ecosystems, interactions between organisms, energy flow and cycles of matter.
• Understanding of processes related to population dynamics, food webs, environmental changes and ecosystem transformation.
• Experience in designing activities, teaching sequences, materials or educational content for adolescents.
• Ability to translate specialized scientific knowledge into understandable explanations without losing conceptual rigor.
• Demonstrable ability to create contextualized, meaningful and relevant activities for high school students.
• Ability to interpret and use graphs, tables, diagrams, models and scientific data within educational activities.
• Excellent writing and command of the conventions of written Spanish.
