Job Description

At KaizenRH we are looking for a Backend Engineering Manager to work on Streaming Platform Projects within a Multinational Telecommunications Company.

We are looking for a highly experienced engineering leader, with a strong technical profile in Backend, capable of directing a technical organization made up of approximately 60 to 80 professionals, including direct management of other Technical Managers (Managers). This role is strategic, reports to a Subdirectorate, and is responsible for ensuring scalability, reliability and delivery of business value through technical excellence.

-Leadership of Leaders and Executive Management
Strategic Leadership of Managers (Executive Level): Possess a demonstrated leadership in the direct management of other Technical Managers (Engineering Managers/Submanagers). This includes:

.Managerial Talent Development: Leading the mentoring and growth of managers to ensure that leadership capacity scales with the organization.

.Standarization and Accountability: Define and ensure technical coherence and standardization of processes (agile execution, code revisions, delivery) in all engineering cells under supervision.

.Account Performance: Being responsible for the final performance, productivity and talent retention of teams led by their managers.

.Scale and Multicultural Management: Proven experience leading a technical organization of 50 to 80 people distributed geographically. Ability to build and motivate high-performance teams, successfully navigating cultural and operational differences in large-scale remote and multicultural environments.

.Critical Decision and Low Pressure Work: Superior capacity to operate efficiently under high pressure and in critical mission environments. History of making quick, forceful and informed decisions at a technical and organizational level.

.Management of Portfolios and Complexity: Dominance in the direction of a portfolio of strategic projects of high complexity.

Experience implementing and optimizing agile frameworks at organizational level such as SAFe, Scrum and Kanban.

Technological Path and Architectural Vision
This role leads the definition and execution of the technological roadmap for the Backend division, focusing on innovation, cost optimization and resilience.

.Architecture Evolution Strategy: Being the final responsible for the architecture migration and evolution strategy. Leading the transition were highly decoupled and efficient microservices models.

.Technological Adoption and Modernization: Drive the adoption of key technologies (GO, PHP, Python) and native services in the cloud (AWS, Azure). Evaluate and select new core technologies (e.g. Oracle, MongoDB, Redis) that support business objectives and scalability.

.Reliability Platform (SRE/Observabilidad): Direct the strategy for the development and boost of systems with observability. Lead the implementation of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) practices and tools such as NewRelic and Sumologic to guarantee continuous monitoring and performance metrics (SLOs/SLAs).

Product Orientation and Value Delivery
.Strategic Alignment and Value: Act as the main partner of the Product team at executive level. You must be able to translate the business vision into an effective technical route, ensuring that the engineering effort is translated into measurable and tangible value for the end customer.

.Excellence in Ejecution: Constant focus on improving work flows and development processes, using industry metrics to maximize efficiency and the quality of deliveries.

Clave Technical Requirements
.Cloud and Orchestration Domain: Extensive experience in AWS and Azure, with advanced Kubernetes domain for orchestration.
.Core Technological Ecosystem: Strategic experience in GO, PHP, Python, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis.

It is valued:
Experience in Streaming: Knowledge of video delivery protocols such as HLS and MPEG-DASH, and experience with encoder/transcoder systems for multimedia content management.
Basic Portuguese

Experience and Qualifications
.Years of Experience Required: Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in engineering, with at least 6 years of direct managerial leadership (People Management), including management of managers.
Languages: Intermediate English (effective communication in international environments).
