Job Description
This Is Not a Normal Creative Job
Merge Screens is a fast-growing ecommerce brand selling Tesla-style screens and CarPlay upgrades for trucks and SUVs. Our customers come to us because they want a modern driving experience, better tech, and a real upgrade, without having to spend $80k on a new truck.
Join Merge Screens and build the ad engine that helps truck owners modernize their ride without buying a new one. We tripled revenue last year. We're now going after $10M. We don't need a creative person. We need a creative system operator who can own the system that turns customer insights into winning ads across Meta, YouTube, Google, and organic social.
You'll own our paid-social creative engine end to end — from mining truck-owner language in reviews and support calls, to shipping 10–15 new ads every single week, to iterating winners until they scale. No fluff. No \"brand aesthetic\" decks. Just hooks, performance data, and relentless iteration. We're four years old, fully remote, and move fast. If you've been waiting for a DTC brand that actually trusts you to own something — this is it.
Your Mission
Make sure Merge Screens always has more, better, and newer creatives in market than last week.
Every week. That means building the research system, writing the hooks, briefing the production, and handing off launch-ready ads — without being chased.
You're the bridge between what truck owners are saying and what shows up in their feed. Your job is to turn that raw language into ads that stop the scroll, drive clicks, and lower our cost per
purchase.
What You'll Own
The Hook Bank & Research Machine
• Maintain a living hook bank: 50+ hooks organized by angle, promise, objection, and avatar — always growing.
• Mine raw material weekly from reviews, support calls, installer footage, email replies, and ad comments.
• Study winning ads in our account, competitor truck brands, and top DTC verticals.
Concepting & Briefing
• Turn research into clear ad concepts: UGC/testimonials, before-after installs, objection handling, education/how-to, and story ads.
• Write simple, repeatable briefs and shot lists for video editors, UGC creators, and our installers filming in-bay.
• Cover all paid channels: Meta (feed/Reels), YouTube (in-stream + Shorts), and Google Display — one hook bank, platform-specific formats. Iteration & Pruning
• Kill losers fast. Document why.
• For winners: new hooks on same footage, new openings, new formats (UGC vs founder vs installer, square vs 9:16, static vs video).
• Repurpose top ads into 2–3 organic posts per week (IG, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) — no net new fluffy content.
Cross-Team Collaboration
• Weekly sync with Retention Manager: steal top email/SMS angles, feed winning hooks back into flows.
• Weekly sync with the video editor helping you cast the vision.
• Weekly sync with Head of Growth: review performance, align on next week's test plan.
• Biweekly sync with support/tech: mine new objections and real customer language for hooks.
How We Measure You
Three KPIs. Simple and brutal:
1. New creatives launched per week — 10–15 net-new ads live each week, broken out by
funnel stage and format. Volume is the oxygen for scaling.
2. Creative hit rate vs control — 20–30%+ of new ads match or beat control on CAC / CPP
within a 3–7 day test window.
3. Cold CAC / CPP vs target — stay at or below target while we scale spend. This is the
ultimate proof your hooks are making the business money.
Who You Are
You're a DTC creative operator, not a creative director. You think in hooks first, not aesthetics.
You've shipped real ads with real numbers, and you're proud to show them.
Non-Negotiables
• 2–4+ years in DTC/ecom performance creative (agency or brand side).
• Hands-on experience creating for Meta + YouTube + Google — correct aspect ratios,
lengths, and first 3 seconds dialed.
• Portfolio of live ads with performance metrics — not mood boards or concept decks.
• Comfortable living in Ads Manager, Triple Whale, and Google/YouTube dashboards to read
winners and losers at the creative level.
• Strong written English — for hooks, briefs, and async communication.
You'll Thrive Here If...
• You show up Monday with a proposed test plan — nobody has to assign you work.
• You enjoy turning chaos into checklists, templates, and repeatable systems.
• You can hear \"this lost, kill it\" and come back with 5 new versions — no drama.
• You'll happily dig into truck owner reviews and installer call transcripts to find gold for hooks.
• You can push back on bad creative decisions — with data, not opinions.
What We Offer
• $32,000-36,000/yr + performance bonus + Paid time off.
• 100% remote.
• Real ownership. You run the creative engine — not just execute tasks handed to you.
• Fast feedback loops. You'll see your ads go live and know the numbers within days.
• A team that moves. We're four years in, tripled revenue last year, and going after $10M. You'll grow with the brand.
• An unusual niche with a loyal customer base — truck owners who are passionate, opinionated, and very vocal in reviews and comments. Great creative folder.
