Looking for an experienced director to join the internal team in Valencia. Looking for someone passionate about building worlds, guiding artistic vision, and creating high-level art.
Responsibilities:
Define and maintain the visual direction of games, in collaboration with game directors and leaders from other disciplines.
Guide and supervise the art team (2D, 3D, animation, VFX, UI) to deliver consistent, high-quality visuals.
Create key artistic assets and visual references, including high-level practical work, especially in 3D and game engine.
Plan and prioritize the art team's workload, balancing creative ambition with production realities.
Ensure the artistic vision stays aligned in all areas: characters, environments, lighting, UI, VFX and more.
Collaborate with production and technology teams to ensure artistic decisions are viable, scalable and efficient.
Provide clear feedback and support to artists to help them develop and reach their full potential.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in the video game industry, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or management position.
Experience in Unreal Engine, with an understanding of how art is built, integrated and optimized in game engine.
Knowledge of 3D art pipelines, from asset creation to final in-game implementation.
Experience supervising multiple artistic disciplines within a gaming team.
Experience working on projects with multidisciplinary teams and understanding of how artistic production works in a collaborative environment.
Ability to communicate clearly with artists and non-artists.
Additional points:
Experience creating 3D assets.
Art-directed game release history.
Experience in lighting, shaders, VFX or technical art.
Experience participating in a project from early incubation to post-production.
