We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Piping Designer eager to learn and grow within our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing and writing engineering projects, as well as providing design and writing support; will be proactive in problem solving; and will always be willing to take on various tasks and contribute to different aspects of our projects.
Your responsibilities include:
Provide support in project design and writing:
• Develop 3D models and drawing packages for projects.
• Develop 3D models of equipment and piping systems using AutoCAD Plant 3D design software.
• Develop/extract all pipeline plans, sections and isometrics (ISO) from 3D models.
• Develop layout plans, equipment location plans, detailed piping plans and ISO plans.
• Prepare pipe bills of materials (BOM) and generate the required ISO and tension drawings.
• Generate pipeline models based on equipment shop drawings and surveyor-provided data for connection points.
• Create pipe specifications in Plant 3D.
• Ensure compliance with approved design standards and specifications for quality design; Adhere to company drawing standards and procedures.
• Review and comment on supplier drawings and interdisciplinary drawings to incorporate them into the project drawings.
• Generate Navisworks sessions from 3D models.
Provide administrative support in design and drawing:
• Communicate and interact with the person responsible for facility design.
• Communicate with clients in a professional and concise manner.
• Lead CAD model reviews.
Training/experience requirements
• Certificate in Engineering Design and Drawing (3-year program) from an accredited technical institute.
• 10+ years of process piping experience, preferably experience in water treatment plant projects, using Victaulic fittings.
• Experience in 3D modeling is required.
• Experience with Autocad Plant 3D (3D modeling) software, Navisworks and other related products for engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of AWWA, ASME and ANSI codes, as well as industry standards.
• Knowledge of piping specifications, piping support requirements, administrative and technical practices, design instructions, drawings, flow charts, and interpretation of supplier information.
• Mastery of PDF editors (BlueBeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat) and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
