Job Description
Purpose of the position
Transform recorded material (classes, tutorials, screencasts, interviews) into clear, dynamic, high-retention educational videos, ready to be published on online course platforms. The editor will be responsible for maintaining visual and sound quality, brand consistency, and an editing pace that promotes student learning.
Main responsibilities
Edit and assemble video of classes and lessons from raw material, taking care of rhythm, clarity and continuity.
Synchronize audio and video, clean silences, fillers, errors and repeated takes.
Correct and balance audio: voice leveling, noise reduction and appropriate background music.
Apply color correction and image adjustments to achieve a consistent look between lessons.
Create and animate graphic aids: titles, lower thirds, highlights, zooms, transitions and call-outs.
Integrate screen recordings (screencasts), presentations, and instructor material in a readable form.
Design or adapt intros, outros, templates and reusable brand elements.
Add subtitles, captions and accessibility elements when required.
Export in the optimal formats and resolutions for each platform (Udemy, Teachable, Hotmart, YouTube, own LMS, etc.).
Organize and back up files and projects following an orderly folder structure.
Meet delivery times and maintain constant communication about progress.
Requirements and experience
Proven experience editing educational content, tutorials or online courses (minimum 1–3 years, depending on position level).
Portfolio or demo reel with examples of educational or training videos.
Mastery of at least one professional editing software:
Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar.
Knowledge of motion graphics tools (Adobe After Effects desirable).
Management of audio editing and cleaning (Adobe Audition, DaVinci Fairlight or equivalent).
Understanding of resolutions, codecs, bitrates and export formats for web and course platforms.
Handling of screen recordings and tools such as Camtasia, OBS or ScreenFlow (desirable).
Management of automatic subtitles and AI tools to speed up editing.
Basic knowledge of graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva).
Specific technical skills for e-learning
Ability to structure the pace of the video with student retention and understanding in mind, not just entertainment.
Ability to make on-screen text, code, slides, or demonstrations legible.
Criterion to visually highlight key concepts (zooms, signage, subtle animations).
Brand consistency across extensive modules and lessons.
Optimization of file size without sacrificing quality, to facilitate loading and playback on different devices.
Soft skills
Attention to detail and high quality standard.
Organization and ability to manage multiple lessons or projects in parallel.
Autonomy and discipline, especially in remote mode.
Clear communication with instructors and production team.
Openness to receiving feedback and iterating on the material.
Compliance with deadlines and reliability in deliveries.
Desirable requirements (plus)
Experience working directly with instructors or course creators.
Notions of script, educational storytelling or instructional design.
Familiarity with LMS platforms and good publishing practices.",
