Usercode is a technology company focused on the development of custom software for public and private institutions. Although as a general rule we operate remotely, depending on the client's needs and the characteristics of each project, in-person activities may be required, such as meetings, validation milestones, product deliveries or other instances. In these cases, the collaborator must be available to attend in person when requested. It is not possible to telework from outside Chile due to security rules of our clients.
We work remotely, our team is in different regions of Chile. To communicate and work we use Slack, Meet Hangout and Monday.

Functions of the position
As a Software Quality Assurance and Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for defining strategy, leading execution, and ensuring software quality for our custom developments. You will work closely with the development team, software architect and project manager, providing a vision of continuous improvement and efficiency through automation and metrics-based management. The projects developed are mostly web platforms.
The position reports directly to the Usercode project manager. Every morning a daily meeting is held to discuss progress and possible blockages from the previous day. During the day, the entire team works on their planned activities and can connect to a video call with all or part of the development team for work meetings and/or clarify doubts.

Position Requirements/Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
Define and implement the Quality Assurance (QA) strategy and the test automation roadmap for the projects.
Collaborate with the Project Manager and Technical Lead to integrate QA and automation across the software development lifecycle.
Test Automation:
Design, develop and maintain high-quality automated testing architecture, frameworks and scripts (functional, regression, API, etc.).
Ensure efficient and scalable automated test coverage, integrating them into the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
Quality and Process Management:
Understand business requirements: read requirements and participate in requirements gathering meetings with clients.
Develop test plan, test cases and generate test data.
Apply manual and automatic software testing according to the plan.
Detection of defects, document, report and manage incidents, collaborating with the development team for their resolution.
Management of KPIs and Reports:
Define, monitor and analyze key QA Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (e.g. automation coverage, defect rate, test cycle time, test execution efficiency).
Generate and present periodic management and performance reports (progress, closure, performance) to management and other stakeholders, proposing action plans and improvements based on the analyzed data.
Exclusive experience
:
Studies related to Software Development and Software Quality Assurance.
At least 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a specialized automation role
Ability to analyze and understand business requirements and processes.
Have availability to work full time.
What do you have to know exclusively on a technical level?
Knowledge of quality management systems and quality standards.
Advanced knowledge and practical experience in the design and implementation of test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Rest-Assured, etc.).
Management of test and defect management tools.
Basic knowledge of Javascript, SQL and NoSQL programming languages.
