Job Description
We are looking for a person to join a temporary research and editing project on Wikipedia in Spanish, focused on improving content through the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools. The position combines editorial work, critical analysis of information and process documentation to contribute to the quality of open knowledge.
The project has a defined duration and is aimed at profiles with an analytical mindset, writing skills and experience or interest in collaborative knowledge environments such as Wikimedia.
Responsibilities:
Design, test and optimize prompts for updating and improving content on Wikipedia.
Edit and improve articles following Wikipedia policies, especially regarding the use of AI and copyright.
Identify and correct possible biases, errors or hallucinations in the content generated by language models.
Document the work process in a structured way, including editorial decisions, findings and improvements made.
Prepare good practice guides on the use of artificial intelligence in Wikimedia environments.
Collaborate in the methodological improvement of the use of AI in open knowledge projects.
Requirements:
Experience or familiarity with Wikimedia projects (especially Wikipedia in Spanish).
Knowledge of Wikipedia editorial policies, especially AI and copyright.
Ability to argue and justify editorial decisions when necessary.
Interest or experience in topics such as environment, climate change or sustainability (valued).
Familiarity with advanced Wikimedia tools such as QuickStatements, PetScan, PagePile or ToolHub (appreciated).
Experience or interest in the use of language models (LLMs) and prompt design.
Critical thinking to identify biases and errors in AI-generated results.
Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way.
Organized, curious and research-oriented profile.
Fluent Spanish (main requirement). Knowledge of Portuguese will be valued.
