Job Description
The selected person will be responsible for translating and writing scripts from German to English, maintaining the channel's editorial style and adapting the content to make it relevant, clear and attractive to a global audience. This is a remote position in freelance mode.
Responsibilities:
Translate and adapt scripts from German to English, maintaining Fern's signature style, tone and narrative.
Rewrite content to improve its clarity, fluidity and adaptation to an international audience.
Research and contextualize information to ensure content is understandable and relevant to different markets.
Check for updates and news on the topics covered to keep the content up to date.
Review original videos to adapt on-screen text and provide international references for headlines, graphics and other visual elements.
Collaborate with the editorial and production team to ensure consistent, high-quality localization.
Meet delivery deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and editorial quality.
Requirements:
Native or equivalent proficient in English, preferably American English, with writing skills.
Advanced level of German.
Demonstrable experience in translation and localization of content, preferably in editorial environments.
Ability to adapt the tone and voice of content to an already established editorial style.
Research and information verification skills.
Ability to identify and adapt cultural references for an international audience.
Experience in writing or adapting scripts for audiovisual content.
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks while meeting established deadlines.
Good communication skills and experience collaborating with remote teams.
