Job Description
We are looking for a Python backend engineer for a messaging platform team, responsible for core systems that support customer and partner APIs, communication channels (such as WhatsApp), billing and integrations. The selected person will work with technical autonomy, participating in architectural decisions and in the evolution of systems in production.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the backend systems of the messaging platform.
Be responsible for technical domains and contribute to architectural decisions.
Design and evolve REST APIs and asynchronous services in Python.
Work on critical integration systems, message queues and workers.
Collaborate with the team in defining and improving the system architecture.
Ensure the quality, observability and maintainability of services in production.
Understand the impact of technical decisions on the business and the product.
Requirements:
Experience with Python at an advanced level.
Knowledge of the language at runtime level (async, memory, typing, packaging).
Experience in backend systems.
Experience with REST APIs and asynchronous programming.
Knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design and query optimization).
Experience with message queues, workers and integration between services.
Ownership mentality about systems in production.
Ability to solve complex problems in a structured way and through iterations.
Good written, clear and concise communication.
Capacity for technical self-knowledge and learning.
Valuable experience with WhatsApp Business Platform.
Experience in B2B SaaS or messaging platforms is valuable.
Experience with GCP or managed cloud infrastructures is valuable.

Salary to receive
€40,000 - €100,000 / year
