Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to develop and scale the APIs and core systems that enable AI agents to interact with Zapier. The role involves designing scalable architectures, creating platform primitives.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and develop core APIs that enable agents to take meaningful actions across the entire Zapier integration ecosystem.
Create systems that support scalable orchestration, robust logging, and highly available execution.
Influence and collaborate on core MCP performance, focusing on memory, context windows, token usage, and reasoning steps.
Integrate with existing Zapier execution infrastructure and help build interfaces between LLM and Zapier clients.
Collaborate with product, design, platform, and sales teams to ensure the protocol meets external and internal needs.
Drive design decisions that prioritize scalability, performance, security, and clarity for both developers and AI systems.
Requirements:
Experience as a Backend engineer, preferably working with APIs and scalable systems.
Knowledge of software architecture and integration protocols.
Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical decisions clearly.
Orientation to problem solving and strategic visibility projects.

Salary to receive
$110,000 - $240,000 / year
