Job Description
WHO WE ARE
Atlas Infrastructure Design is a New Zealand-based consultancy specializing in transport infrastructure design. We participate in civil, railway and road projects covering geometric design, drainage, earthworks, pavements, structures, geotechnics, topography and digital production.
We are an international, agile and close team, with high technical standards and a practical and collaborative way of working.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for civil design engineers to work from Colombia, 100% remotely, on infrastructure projects in New Zealand. The work will involve the design, calculations and preparation of technical deliverables in an international team, under the review and direction of senior engineers.
The position is intended primarily as a full-time vacancy. However, we are also interested in professionals who are looking for part-time work, who need to combine collaboration with another job or with their own practice, or who are available for specific assignments, either hourly or project-based.
The dedication, modality and conditions will be defined during the process, taking into account the profile and availability of each person, as well as Atlas' workload.
We are looking for profiles from different disciplines of civil engineering. We do not expect a single person to master all areas, but we do expect them to demonstrate experience and technical depth in at least one of them.
Disciplines that interest us
• Road and geometric design.
• Drainage and storm sewer.
• Pavements.
• Structures, including bridges and small civil structures.
• Geotechnics.
• Earthworks.
• Topography and processing of topographic information.
• Aqueducts and drinking water networks.
• Sanitary sewer.
• Digital modeling and production, including models, plans, quantities and other deliverables in CAD or BIM environments.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
• Directly prepare calculations, models, plans, calculation reports, work quantities, reports and other technical deliverables specific to your discipline.
• Transform topographic surveys, tests, reports, design criteria and review comments into concrete solutions and deliverables.
• Apply quality controls, documenting hypotheses, checking results, detecting inconsistencies and maintaining traceability of files and reviews.
• Collaborate with an international team, responding to comments, communicating progress, doubts and risks, and participating in technical meetings when the assignment requires it.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for professionals with demonstrable capacity in technical design and production, who personally prepare the calculations, models, plans and reports corresponding to their discipline.
We deeply value the experience on site. However, this call is not aimed at profiles whose career has focused mainly on residency, supervision, coordination or construction administration. We prefer to state this clearly from the beginning, as the process will include technical design testing that may not adequately reflect the strengths of those professionals.
REQUIREMENTS
• Professional degree in Civil Engineering or in a discipline related to the proposed specialty.
• Demonstrable experience in design or consulting within your discipline, preferably three years or more. We may also consider profiles with less experience that demonstrate exceptional technical capacity.
• A clearly defined specialty and the ability to explain what deliverables you can personally develop and with what level of autonomy.
• Minimum level of English B1, with the ability to understand technical project documentation. A level B2 or higher will be especially valued.
• Availability to meet the team until 2:00pm New Zealand. Depending on winter or summer time, this means being available until approximately 7:00 or 9:00 p.m. m., Colombia time, in accordance with the agreed dedication.
• Adequate computer equipment and stable internet connection to work remotely and reliably.
• Judgment, honesty and reliability to review information, detect inconsistencies, communicate progress and doubts with transparency, and meet agreed deadlines.
WHAT WE OFFER
• Participation in international infrastructure projects in New Zealand, with high technical standards.
• 100% remote work from Colombia.
• Flexibility to agree on a full-time, part-time, hourly or project-based dedication, depending on the profile and workload.
• Continuity and growth opportunities for those who demonstrate quality, responsibility and autonomy.
• A close, collaborative and results-oriented international team, with clear expectations on scope, quality and deadlines.
• Incorporation and familiarization with the design standards, tools and processes used in New Zealand.
CONDITIONS
Atlas seeks to meet different profiles through this call. The modality, scope and conditions of each relationship will be clearly agreed during the selection process and before the start of the collaboration.
Any connection will be conditional on the signing of the applicable confidentiality and intellectual property agreements, as well as the verification of employment or academic references.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply through the platform and attach your updated resume.
The selection process will include an English test and a short technical test, adapted to the declared specialty.",
