Position Summary
We are looking for a Remote Civil / Structural Engineer, specialist in RISA (RISA-3D / RISAFloor), with proven experience in importing IFC models into RISA, preferably from FrameCAD or other BIM platforms. The professional will support the structural analysis and design of residential and light commercial projects, working in coordination with the architecture and MEP teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design using RISA-3D and RISAFloor for steel, concrete, wood and light gauge steel (LGS) systems.

Import, review, debug and optimize IFC models in RISA, from FrameCAD or other compatible software.

Verify geometry, connectivity, element properties, loads and support conditions after IFC import.

Model and validate gravitational, lateral (wind and earthquake) loads and load combinations in accordance with applicable codes.

Coordinate with architecture and MEP teams to resolve interferences, modeling inconsistencies, and coordination adjustments.

Prepare calculation reports, structural reports and technical design narratives.

Provide technical support and guidelines on good modeling practices, IFC workflows and interoperability between software.

Support QA/QC processes to reduce errors, omissions and rework (bluelines).

Contribute to the development of internal standards, templates and procedures for the correct IFC–RISA integration.

Position Requirements

Professional degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Proven practical experience in RISA-3D and/or RISAFloor.

Knowledge and experience in importing and managing IFC files in RISA, preferably from FrameCAD.

Solid knowledge of structural systems (steel, concrete, wood and LGS).

Mastery of gravitational and lateral load analysis.

Ability to work remotely and in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Requirements

Professional license (PE) or in process (not exclusive).

Experience with US codes (ASCE, ACI, AISC, NDS) or other equivalents.

Knowledge of BIM standards and IFC interoperability.

Experience in technical review and quality control (QA/QC) processes.
