Seeking a Data Engineer with experience in data infrastructure operations, automation, and management, as well as traditional data engineering tasks. The position involves working cross-functionally with various teams and contributing to development.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement advanced infrastructure for efficient data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) using AWS and SQL technologies.
Develop analytical tools that leverage streaming data to provide insights into critical business metrics, such as customer growth and operational efficiency.
Design and manage large and complex data sets to meet business needs.
Interact with executive, product, data and design teams, providing technical support and advice on data infrastructure.
Generate a significant impact on the experience of community members.
Collaborate and mentor other engineers through code, design, and architecture reviews.
Contribute to defining technical direction, planning the roadmap, escalating issues, and synthesizing feedback.
Estimate and manage deadlines and risks of team projects.
Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new team members.
Lead engineering initiatives between teams.
Stay up to date on new technologies and industry standards in data engineering.
Requirements:
More than 7 years of experience in data infrastructure design, construction and maintenance and ability to lead complex projects and teams.
Bachelor's, master's, or doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Kafka and event-based systems.
Proficiency in Python and Scala.
Knowledge of distributed computing frameworks, including Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Databricks experience is desirable.
Knowledge of database design, SQL, and NoSQL databases. Experience in managing large data sets and performance optimization.
Proficiency in Git and Terraform.
Knowledge of data security, including encryption, decryption, and secure storage and transfer protocols.

Salary to receive
$40,000 - $175,000 / year
