Job Description
We are looking for a professional to design, implement and maintain the database infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability and self-healing. The candidate will be responsible for the lifecycle of deployments and proactive management of production database systems within containerized environments.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement and maintain database infrastructure using StatefulSets, operators and Helm charts.
Own the deployment lifecycle for database clusters by managing version control for Helm charts and configuration templates.
Support and manage production database systems through proactive instrumentation and monitoring of performance, security, and availability.
Perform zero-downtime upgrades and migrations for major and minor releases, developing and maintaining Helm hooks and custom scripts to automate complex stateful operations.
Manage and optimize the performance of back-end data stores, ensuring data consistency and integrity across pod lifecycles.
Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts (Bash, Python) focused on simplifying Kubernetes administration tasks, including provisioning users and secrets, as well as monitoring cluster health.
Requirements:
More than 4 years of experience managing large-scale, high-availability database systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Experience creating automation scripts in Python or Bash.
Experience with Kubernetes and Helm is appreciated.
Advanced knowledge of HA in PostgreSQL (streaming replication, Repmgr, Patroni) or sharding and replication in MongoDB.
Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, GCP or Azure.
Experience using version control systems, configuration management and IaaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
Experience with database tools such as pgAdmin, Pgbench, Robo3t, Studio3t, MongoDB Ops Manager and Mongo Mirror.
Experience with Prometheus, Cloudwatch and monitoring tools both within Kubernetes and external cloud managed infrastructures.
