We are looking for a Senior BESS Engineer to act as the main technical reference in projects related to battery energy storage systems. You will work alongside clients across the Americas, participating in all phases of the project lifecycle, from pre-sales and technical onboarding to performance analysis, system optimization and ongoing support, collaborating with the Product, Engineering and Sales teams.
Responsibilities:
Act as the main technical point of contact for clients in the United States and America.
Collaborate with the Sales and Solutions Engineering teams on pre-sales activities, technical analysis and data availability evaluation.
Lead the technical onboarding of new clients, reviewing one-line diagrams, configuring sensors and preparing the platform for the deployment of indicators.
Manage KPI implementation and validation, identifying and resolving issues related to data quality and system performance.
Analyze the performance of BESS systems during start-up and expansions, detecting anomalies and preparing technical reports.
Identify opportunities for product improvement based on customer experience and transfer them to the Product and Engineering teams.
Provide platform training to performance engineers, operations and maintenance teams, and asset managers.
Requirements:
Experience in the battery energy storage systems (BESS) industry.
Experience as a performance engineer, systems engineer or operations and maintenance (O&M) engineer.
Degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Proficient in Python for data analysis and processing.
Experience with Databricks will be valued.
Knowledge of communication and data ingestion protocols such as Modbus, IEC-104, OPC-UA, REST API and SFTP.
Knowledge of the US wholesale energy markets and the main ISO/RTO operators (CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, ISO-NE and NYISO).
Good level of English, both oral and written.
Knowledge of Spanish will be valued.
