Job Description
Position Summary
We are looking for a recently graduated engineer with a strong technical base and desire to learn "in real life" to join a team that builds critical asset inspection solutions using robotics, perception (vision/3D), data platforms and digital twins. Your focus will be to connect the physical world with the digital one: capture data from robots and sensors, process it (images, point clouds, telemetry), expose it on a platform (APIs/dashboards) and transform it into a digital twin useful for operation and maintenance.
Ideal profile
Civil Electrical, Electronic, Computer/Informatics Engineer
Recent graduate or 0-2 years of experience (internships count).
High potential, curiosity and accelerated learning mentality.
Leadership from day one: ownership of tasks, initiative and the ability to ask for help on time.
Order and rigor: reproducibility, technical log, documentation and focus on data quality.
Apply for this job opportunity at getonbrd.com.
Key responsibilities
1) Capture and processing software (Robotics + Data)
Develop and maintain tools for collecting, cleaning and processing data generated by robots (images, video, LiDAR/point clouds, IMU and other sensors).
Design reproducible pipelines for data logging, synchronization, validation and backup.
Automate recurring tasks (import, format conversion, quality control, base report generation).
2) Perception and analytics (Vision + 3D)
Implement and optimize image processing algorithms (OpenCV) and spatial data/point cloud analysis (filters, registration, segmentation, metrics).
Support dataset curation, annotation/labeling when applicable, and validation of results.
Measure performance: precision/recall when applicable, error, coverage, repeatability and rework rate.
3) Data platform (Backend + Integrations + Dashboards)
Build and maintain services for data exploitation: APIs, connectors and backend components.
Model and maintain databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and support lightweight ETL flows and exports for clients.
Create visualizations and dashboards for non-expert users, focused on decision and traceability.
4) Digital twins (Assets + Evidence + Traceability)
Structuring assets and campaigns: hierarchies, metadata, criticality, evidence and before/after comparisons.
Support the construction of 3D views/models and technical reports aimed at maintenance and operation.
Ensure consistency: naming, versioning of datasets and internal standards.
5) Integration and quality (Hardware/Software + Operation)
Collaborate with hardware/robotics engineering for seamless integration (interfaces, formats, compute limits).
Design and execute tests to ensure performance, robustness and data quality.
Document code and processes clearly; maintain version control and good development practices.
Required technical skills
Python (required). C++ (desirable).
Use of Linux/Unix and terminal tools.
Data analysis: NumPy, Pandas, SciPy (or equivalent).
Image processing: OpenCV (strong desirable).
Version control: Git (required).
Ability to create visualizations (for example Matplotlib) and leave tools usable by third parties.
Desirable (they add up to a lot)
ROS/ROS2 (nodes, topics, services, actions).
Point and 3D clouds: Open3D, PCL or others.
Machine Learning applied to vision: PyTorch/TensorFlow/Keras.
Cloud: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud (storage, processing or deployment).
Docker and notions of REST APIs.
If you are passionate about robotics, software, machine learning, innovation and development, with a focus on the generation of new products and services, this is the ideal place to learn and grow professionally. You will be researching, developing and implementing solutions based on a combination of software and hardware to solve challenging problems with high impact on the industry and the environment.
We are a multidisciplinary team, with a pleasant and relaxed work environment that has unique, well-developed and tested services. We are very enthusiastic about continuing to develop and implement innovative services and solutions.
We were finalists for the Avonni National Innovation Award 2019. We also received the Optimus Pipe 2018 Best Contribution to the Tailings Transportation Industry Award.
