Job Description
SUMMARY:
A GIS Developer/ Integrated Construction Coordinator (ICC) II who will be the functional process expert among our Integrated Construction Team. This person will be part of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team. The role would report to Senior GIS Developer and could be hybrid or remote position.
You will partner and support GIS processes developed or in scope in various business groups. Become a part of Mortenson's GIS team and contribute to creating innovative solutions, architecting, configuring, and testing variety of geospatial solutions that solve daily challenges.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be a visionary for your GIS users anticipating their needs and the technology trends that may impact them.
Serve as a technical support expert by managing GIS Support Ticket requests (ServiceNow) in a timely manner by providing guidance and support to GIS users throughout the organization.
Be the point of contact for team members on GIS solutions, workflows, automation and troubleshooting needs.
Serve as a technical expert for geospatial solutions, specifically: ArcGIS Hub or Site, ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS QuickCapture, ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS Dashboards, ArcGIS Instant Apps, ArcGIS StoryMaps.
Develop web application with frameworks like Javascript API , Python etc.
Automation of workflows using languages such as Python, Arcade, SQL and Javascript.
Integration of other solutions with other business systems such as Procore, salesforce, Intelex, Oracle, data warehousing (Microsoft Fabric or Synapse), BI and other analytics Platform.
Integration of different data formats such as CAD, 3D models, imagery, kmz/kml etc.
Review workflows, address critical challenges and propose effective solutions built by GIS Business Group leaders.
GIS workflows, data, mapping and content standardization and implementation
Support and train team members on how to best leverage GIS solutions, GIS tools and automation.
Effectively partner with Energy & Infrastructure (E&I), Data Center and Commercial TMs
Document work process as it relates to improving and/or changing current company process standards
Plan, implement and Coordinate VDC processes through appropriate technology platforms
May include, but is not limited to, Mortenson BIM/VDC uses: existing conditions modeling, cost estimation, phase planning (4D), site analysis, design reviews, 3D visualization, 3D coordination, site utilization planning, construction system design, digital fabrication, 3D control planning and record modeling.
Provide point of contact for construction team members on VDC processes and reports during all phases of construction
Document work process as it relates to enhancing and/or changing current company process standards
All other duties as assigned
Assist in training on VDC processes
All integrated construction team members are expected to be active participants in Mortenson’s IDAT (Integrated Delivery Advancement Team) community of practice– Knowledge sharing
Daily work planning
Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field
2+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
1+ years of experience in the AEC industry
Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS products including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, Geoevent Server and Image Server
Field Data Collection Apps and Maps, Dashboards, Experience Builder, and/or Autodesk AutoCAD
Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context, such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing
Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments (Microsoft Azure or AWS)
Completion of intermediate level of BIM/VDC software training
High level of competency with ESRI GIS products and Solutions, ArcGIS Servers, Python, JavaScript API for ArcGIS, .NET, Web Services, Angular JS, React.
Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Synchro 4D, Trimble SketchUp, and Bluebeam Revu
Familiarity with Autodesk BIM 360 Field and Glue, 3DS Max, Civil 3D, Point Layout, Faro Scene, Google Earth Pro, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
Familiarity with the following workflows and solutions is preferred but not required; game engine technologies (Unity, Unreal, Lumion 3D), Parametric Analysis solutions (Dynamo, Grasshopper, Solibri), basic key frame animation, 2D/3D rendering capabilities, 2D/3D post production capabilities
Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
Current driver’s license
Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level

The base pay range for this role is $89,500 - $120,800.
(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
