Role
We are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer with proven experience in bridges, wharfs and other civil structures.
You will play a key role in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects, producing detailed structural designs, drawings, specifications, and reports, you will be directly responsible for preparing buildable documentation that supports both design and construction teams.
You will contribute to diverse projects across New Zealand and Australia, including railway bridges, culverts, retaining walls, temporary works, pump stations, flood resilience structures, and other critical infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise in a collaborative, digitally advanced environment.

Responsibilities
•\ Deliver detailed structural designs and drawings, ensuring practical and constructible solutions.
•\ Develop calculations, design reports, and specifications in compliance with New Zealand and international standards as required.
•\ Carry out drafting and modelling using AutoCAD and Civil 3D (experience with Revit or other BIM/structural drafting tools is advantageous).
•\ Support the design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, pump stations, and other civil infrastructure assets.
•\ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, hydraulic, geotechnical, and rail engineers) to deliver integrated design solutions.

Requirements
•\ Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
•\ 4–7 years of experience in civil structural engineering (rail, bridges, or civil infrastructure preferred).
•\ Strong drafting and modelling skills (AutoCAD and Civil 3D essential; Revit or other BIM tools desirable).
•\ Strong knowledge of elastic seismic analysis methods, including Equivalent Static Analysis and Modal Response Spectrum Analysis, as well as nonlinear methods such as Pushover Analysis, with consideration of soil–structure interaction and performance-based design, in accordance with NZS 1170.5 and other international standards (e.g., ASCE 7, AASHTO, Eurocode 8).
•\ Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional technical documentation in English.
•\ Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (verbal and written) with prior experience in a technical environment.
•\ Reliable, proactive, and eager to take ownership of design packages.
•\ A collaborative team player with the ability to contribute to multidisciplinary project delivery.
