Our unique focus on providing word-class accommodations to discerning groups of travelers in premier travel destinations, combined with a tech-enabled and data-driven business strategy, has allowed Heirloom to quickly carve out a unique space for itself within the highly competitive and rapidly evolving luxury vacation rental industry.\nSummary: \nThe Legal Advisor will serve as the primary legal consultant to the company, providing strategic counsel on legal, regulatory, and risk issues across the organization. This role will partner closely with the executive team to support business strategy, oversee risk management, and ensure compliance across all functions, including real estate, construction, employment, and corporate operations.\nEssential Functions\n\ Drafting: 45% of time commitment\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders regarding general corporate work and drafting\nEngage in legal negotiations on a variety of contracts, including by but not limited to external management contracts, set-up service agreements, master service agreements, letters of understanding\nDrive in-house document revision and drafting, as assigned: corporate resolutions, amendments, internal policy documents, or agreements\n\ Case/Claim Management: 35% of time commitment\nManage construction/development/capital improvement casework\nConduct neighbor outreach for property improvement initiatives\nTake corrective action as it relates to compliance violations\nLead external vendor invoice management/disputing\nManage warranty Claims (furniture/construction)\n\ Miscellaneous Legal Work: 20% of time commitment\nDrive negotiations with neighbors, external vendors and third-parties\nAdminister and manage lease agreements. Includes but is not limited to, leading rent reduction arguments and warranty outreach \nSource & proactively identify local counsel when needed\nTrack legal billing in alignment with property budgets\nWork with HR to develop compliance training for staff (data privacy, HR policies, etc.)\nExpectation: The Legal Advisor is expected to proactively manage legal and business risks while aligning solutions with company growth objectives. They will partner with executives to guide strategic initiatives and provide practical, business-minded advice.\nRequisites\nAdvanced Law Degree\nLicense to practice law\n510 years of progressive legal experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house roles.\nDemonstrated leadership in contract negotiation, compliance, and executive-level advisory.\nBroad expertise across real estate, construction, zoning, and corporate governance\nExperience reviewing and negotiating loan agreements, investor agreements, and complex business contracts.\nExperience supervising outside counsel, setting litigation strategy, and managing legal spend.\nProven ability to advise executives and influence business strategy at the organizational level.\nExcellent communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for non-legal stakeholders.\n\nSchedule & Compensation: General availability Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm EST",
