Features
Lead the design, development and validation of advanced analytics and prediction models, with a focus on time series and rigorous statistical approaches.
Formulate business problems as mathematical and statistical challenges, translating requirements into applicable analytical solutions.
Design and validate predictive models for time series and other complex data sets, ensuring robustness and scalability.
Implement model validation and hyperparameter optimization methodologies, including approaches such as backtesting and walk-forward validation.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to translate analytical findings into strategic decisions and operational actions.
Document and explain complex models to technical and non-technical audiences, promoting interpretability and traceability.
Manage projects, plan deliverables, manage risks and ensure compliance with deadlines and quality standards.
Contribute to the development of data science practices in the organization and mentor team members.

Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with a solid background in Pure Mathematics and a postgraduate degree (Master's or PhD) to lead advanced analytics projects. Proven experience in applied data science, advanced modeling, and capabilities to manage complex solutions in enterprise environments are required. The role requires exclusive dedication (Full-Time) and in-person work in Cartagena. Leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to translate analytical results into actionable recommendations for strategic decisions are valued.
Technical competencies include mathematical rigor, advanced statistical inference, probability calculation, and time series modeling; experience with models such as SARIMAX, ensembles and Deep Learning applied to time series; mathematical optimization and use of optimization tools (e.g. OR-Tools). Must handle validation methodologies and interpretability techniques (SHAP or others). Experience with backtesting, rolling validation and Bayesian tuning will be an advantage, as well as the ability to explain complex models to diverse audiences.
A professional is expected who can work in a collaborative environment, with proactivity, results orientation and capacity for continuous learning in emerging technologies, promoting technical excellence and impact on regional clients.

Desirable requirements
Advanced training in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or related areas, with evidence of operations research, artificial intelligence or applied scientific computing. Experience in financial environments and the ability to identify and quantify business impacts through analytical models is valued. Communication skills to present results to technical and managerial audiences, and experience in project leadership or multidisciplinary teams.
