Paralegal
Location (Remote)
Hours: Monthly to Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST
Description of the box
Paralegals carry out substantive and billable legal work under the direction of the Socios or other lawyers of the firm. The main objective of Paralegal is to relieve lawyers of part of the tasks of legal practice, allowing them to focus on activities of greater value and complexity.
Furthermore, Paralegal services are billed at a lower rate than that of a lawyer, generating a direct benefit for the firm's clients.
Responsibilities
Maintain files, discovery files and case database
Carry out administrative tasks (schedule hearings and closings, organize files, manage logistics, etc.)
Complete legal forms
Write simple letters and court documents
Prepare for divorces by adjusting standard spreadsheets
Draft contracts by adjusting pre-existing formats
Prepare reports and legal documents
Investigate laws and judicial decisions related to current and past cases
Support lawyers in preparing cases for court
Draft corporate statutes and operating agreements
Review pending legislation
Draft motions and other court documents
Prepare discovery and responses to discovery requests
Organize files, documents, attachments, writings and appendices
Collect relevant information from different sources
Hold roots at state and federal level in: Florida, New York, Texas, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Coordinate with lawyers and external providers
Finalize format and attachments of writings, motions and other documents before their publication
Required skills
Knowledge of federal court rules and litigation topics
Experience in complex litigation
Minimum 3 years as a Litigation Paralegal
Bilingual Spanish/English
Great attention to detail
Excellent organization skills
