Job Summary
Responsible for production design within the Print and Packaging creative team. Collaborates closely with, Prepress & Production Manager, Art Directors, Proofing, and Copywriters and coordinates with cross-functional teams including Packaging Engineering, Marketing and Regulatory. Their keen eye for detail combined with technical know-how ensures all work meets stringent requirements and fulfills the conceptual vision. Must work quickly in a fast-paced environment, both independently and in collaboration. Most have strong typographic and layout skillset as well as outstanding organizational skills. Has the experience to consistently perform core responsibilities and processes autonomously.

The Production Artist:
•\ Partners across the organization to resolve challenges necessary to perform responsibilities
•\ Effectively communicates with team members across creative, marketing, regulatory, legal, and other teams as necessary. High proficiency in English is required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
•\ Work closely with Art Directors to ensure conceptual design integrity is maintained for all components created throughout the production process
•\ Own proper completion of assigned jobs from start to finish:
o\ Identify and prepare all reference material
o\ Create folders for each job and maintain proper documentation
o\ Verify die lines
o\ Implement copy/content and concept design to approved die lines
o\ Create layouts that follow appropriate standards and procedures for all shippers, secondary packaging components and displays assigned
o\ Ensure accuracy of barcodes and EPA registration numbers
o\ Ensure implementation of EPA, FDA and State standards
o\ Ensure all font sizes meet Regulatory requirements and Fair Packaging and Labeling Act guidelines
o\ Implement all Legal, Regulatory, R&D and Marketing revisions
o\ Prepare items for the review process by masterfully implementing department procedures
o\ Own resolution of artwork challenges that arise during production, properly anticipate when to escalate matters and efficiently alert proper parties
•\ May coordinate with translation agency for implementation of translations on assigned projects
•\ Communicate with Marketing team necessary to refine work requirements on assigned projects
•\ Create layouts that follow appropriate standards and procedures for all shippers, secondary packaging components and displays as assigned

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
•\ Create concept/mockup renderings, photo retouching and upload assets to servers and libraries
•\ Design and revise display elements, coupons, catalogs and other print material
•\ Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Profile
•\ Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or other related field
•\ At least four years of experience as a Production Artist
•\ Basic creative background to help bridge communication between Production and Design
•\ Proficient in Creative Cloud
•\ Consumer products background with experience in the home & garden or pet industry a plus
