Job Duties:
The Program Verification and Validation Designer will contribute to major developments by demonstrating that the design is fit for its intended use through the implementation and execution of Verification, Integration, and Test activities, while meeting Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets. Define and perform all in-house activities related to Verification, Integration, and Testing carried out by the V&V team, as well as by interface experts from other departments. Identify any activities that need to be transferred to project teams or site execution and follow up on the results. Collaborate with design teams to share and discuss the outcomes of V&V activities. Coordinate with the Verification & Validation Manager to agree on strategy, scheduling, and budget, and provide regular updates on progress, results, and issues during execution.
Essential Functions:
Design and develop automated frameworks and test scripts using LabVIEW, Python, C#, C++, and TestStand.
Contribute to the definition of the program Verification and Validation (V&V) strategy in the V&V Plan and proactively support its implementation.
Define the verification methodology for selected deliverables, as specified in the V&V strategy.
Develop test plans and test descriptions for in-house activities.
Execute and document assigned verification, integration, and test activities.
When safety is involved, collaborate with the Safety Assurance Manager to justify and communicate results that support the safety demonstration.
Interface with experts from other departments to align methodologies for selected V&V activities.
Specify, procure, develop, set up, and configure test assets, such as test benches and instrumentation.
Provide data to support the maintenance of applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Contribute valuable feedback during Return of Experience (REX) sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage the configuration and change management cycle related to V&V activities (e.g., simulation configuration, anomaly tracking).
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related and three (3) years’ experience in Computer Engineering. In addition, must have the following experience:
experience in signaling application design discipline, V&V discipline, or Signaling Product design;
experience in Safety Assurance; experience in relay interlocking and computer-based interlocking;
three (3) years of experience in systems / sub-systems application design or integration, electrotechnical product development in a highly complex and normative environment specifically within railway signaling;
three (3) years of experience writing test automation frameworks and scripts using National Instruments LabView and TestStand; and
experience in software coding.
