You will be the most senior person within the programming team. Your main responsibility will be to define and raise the technical standard of the project in Unreal Engine, both in game systems and development tools.
You will work with technical management, taking responsibility for the most complex problems and actively contributing to the code architecture. Additionally, mentoring and developing the programming team will be a key part of your role.
Responsibilities:
Take charge of technical and architectural decisions in the main game systems.
Assume responsibility for tasks of greater technical complexity, including advanced optimization, cross-system refactoring, and critical areas of code.
Define and maintain technical standards and good development practices.
Accompany and mentor programmers of all levels through pair programming, code reviews and technical guidance.
Document systems and share key technical knowledge within the team.
Identify, evaluate and prototype new tools and workflows to improve team efficiency.
Participate in technical selection and onboarding processes of new team members.
Requirements:
More than 10 years of experience in the video game development industry.
Proficiency in C++ and knowledge of large-scale software architecture.
Experience in video game programming at the engine and tools level.
Knowledge of Unreal Engine and its internal systems.
Experience developing and launching AA/AAA titles with responsibility for core systems.
Ability to debug, optimize, and perform performance analysis (CPU and GPU, including console work).
Experience in technical mentoring.
Communication and technical documentation skills.
Good technical judgment in deciding when to build, refactor, or maintain existing solutions.
Minimum of 2 years experience in console development (PlayStation, Xbox).
