Job Description

WeScale builds tools that empower entrepreneurs to launch and grow print-on-demand e-commerce businesses. Our product suite includes BuildMyPOD (an automated Shopify store builder), WeScale Uploader (bulk design import and mockup management), and MysticPOD (AI-powered design generation). We deeply integrate with Shopify, Printify, and other e-commerce platforms. As a foundational hire, this role will own quality across our product suite and will be the first dedicated QA on the team. You will collaborate with the Product Manager and development team to shape testing coverage, define QA processes, and ensure every release ships with confidence. A significant part of this role is leveraging AI to understand codebases, generate and maintain tests, analyze bug report patterns, and stay ahead of QA trends. AI-powered workflow is not optional.

Own end-to-end QA across the full product suite (Next.js/TypeScript/React) and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Design, implement, and maintain automated test coverage using Playwright or Cypress; create robust test suites for UI, API, and webhook testing.
Read and navigate codebases to understand data flows, integration points, and dependencies.
Collaborate with Product Manager and developers to define acceptance criteria and release quality metrics.
Develop and maintain AI-assisted QA workflows to generate tests, analyze defects, and optimize test strategies.
Identify, document, and track defects with clear repro steps and impact analysis; monitor bug trends to drive process improvements.
Work with databases basics (Supabase) and APIs (Shopify Admin API, webhooks) to validate data integrity and flows.
Contribute to test data management, environment setup, and rollback plans to ensure reliable releases.

WeScale seeks a proactive QA Engineer who can establish quality practices in a fast-growing environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with E2E testing tools (Playwright, Cypress or similar) and can navigate code, API, and webhook testing. You should be comfortable with database basics (Supabase) and capable of producing precise, actionable bug reports. A strong candidate will possess a solid understanding of modern web stacks (Next.js, TypeScript, React) and be comfortable aligning with product objectives while advocating for quality at every stage of development. You should be excited about AI-driven QA workflows and staying current with evolving QA paradigms. Strong collaboration and clear communication are a must, as you will partner closely with product and engineering teams to deliver high-confidence releases.

Experience in AI-assisted testing, familiarity with commerce platforms (Shopify, Printify) and related APIs, experience with performance or load testing, and prior work as a sole QA in early-stage startups. Familiarity with Vercel deployments, CDNs, analytics tools (Mixpanel, PostHog), marketing integrations (Klaviyo), and cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) is a plus. Strong problem-solving mindset, proactive communication, and a bias for hands-on experimentation will help you thrive.

Fully remote role with flexible schedules to overlap with CST. Competitive full-time compensation with contract-to-hire potential. An opportunity to shape QA processes from day one and influence product quality across a growing suite of tools. Work with a collaborative team passionate about helping entrepreneurs succeed in e-commerce. WeScale supports ongoing learning and adoption of AI-assisted QA practices, providing the space to experiment with new approaches. Potential for career growth as the first dedicated QA on the team.
