Job Description
At ADN – Human Resources we are looking for an AS/400 / Remote RPG Developer for a Large Company.
Requirements:
-At least four years of experience.
-Education: University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (preferred).
-Solid experience in developing COBOL applications in AS/400 environments.
-Deep knowledge of RPG IV and ILE RPG Free Format.
-Familiarity with relational databases, preferably DB2.
-Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
-Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Tasks to develop:
Application Development:
-Lead the development of complex applications using RPG, other related technologies in the AS/400 environment.
-Design and write efficient and sustainable code, ensuring scalability and optimal performance of applications.
Analysis and Design:
-Collaborate with systems analysts and other team members to understand user requirements and design effective solutions.
-Contribute to the architectural design of systems, applying best practices and development patterns.
Maintenance and Optimization:
-Perform ongoing maintenance of existing applications, identifying and correcting possible problems.
-Optimize application performance, implementing improvements and updates as necessary.
Testing and Quality Control:
-Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure the functionality and quality of the developed software.
-Develop and execute unit and integration tests to validate the stability and reliability of applications.
Documentation:
-Maintain complete and up-to-date technical documentation, including user manuals and technical specifications.
-Collaborate in the preparation of technical documentation to facilitate maintenance and understanding of the code.
Collaboration and Training:
-Collaborate with other developers and interdisciplinary teams.
-Provide guidance and training to more junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
