Summary
The Superior Court IT Applications group is looking for a Senior Applications Developer. We are an energetic and hard-working team that delivers custom software solutions using the Microsoft technology stack. The work we do supports one of the most forward-thinking, pro-technology courts in the country. As part of the team, you will support and produce enhancements to existing products, as well as lead the development and deployment of enterprise level projects.

Work location: This position is primarily located at the King County Courthouse in downtown Seattle. The incumbent may also be required to work at other Superior Court locations.
Work schedule: This is a full-time position. The Court's business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work hours for this position may vary, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not overtime eligible.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. Employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their King County Superior Court worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. Employees will be provided with a Court-issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.

Job Duties
The following is intended to be a summary of the job functions for this position and does not reflect every task encountered to achieve these functions.
Contribute to software architecture design and development
Write clean, scalable code and unit tests
Carry out code-reviews at regular intervals in coordination with other developers
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including performance
Maintain and support cloud-based services, systems, and applications
Develop and maintain documentation for applications, systems, and operating instructions
Ensure the compatibility of websites with newer software and OS versions
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties listed in the job duties section.
5+ years of professional experience working within the Microsoft development stack and/or utilizing front-end technologies such as Angular and Typescript
Ability to work independently and in a respectful team environment
Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills
REQUIRED SKILLS
Front-End Development
In-depth knowledge of JavaScript & its frameworks like Angular, Node, Vue, React
Mastery of HTML5, CSS3+, AJAX, RxJS
Back-End Development
C#, LINQ, XUnit/NUnit
Architecture: Microservices, RESTful APIs, Cloud Services- Microsoft Azure CI/CD
UX Design
Wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
Responsive and adaptive design
Maintain brand consistency
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience in relational and non-relational data storage designs
A keen design sense
Experience with iterative development methodologies such as Agile

Special requirements: The ability to reliably travel throughout the county is required. Finalists are subject to the Washington State Patrol criminal background check and a reference check. Criminal background records are not automatically disqualifying.
