Job Description:
To provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of departmental functions at Con Edison. This role supports managers and teams in a fast-paced utility environment by handling daily administrative tasks, coordinating information flow, and delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders. The Clerical Assistant plays a key role in maintaining organized records, supporting operational processes, and upholding Con Edisons standards for professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Key responsibilities typically include managing correspondence and phone inquiries, scheduling meetings, preparing reports, spreadsheets, maintaining files, databases, creating and receipting Oracle requisitions, assisting with data tracking and documentation. This role may also involve processing transactions, tracking requests in internal systems, coordinating with other business units or outside agencies, and supporting compliance with company policies and deadlines. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential for success in this position.

Additional Physical Demands
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Core Responsibilities
The selected candidate will possess excellent computer, administrative and organization skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point is required, along with the ability to quickly learn and effectively use Meter Asset Management System (MAMS), and other third party vendor systems.
Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills are required for heavy interaction with internal and external customers.
The selected candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
This position is currently hybrid, with three days in the office and two days remote; standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. This on-site requirement may change based on business needs.
The System Emergency Assignment (SEA) program provides a mechanism by which Con Edison can best utilize its employee resources should an event occur that affects our facilities, equipment, or systems and the company's operating department(s). Your System Emergency Assignment (SEA) may be different than your everyday job. The purpose of this role is to help in an emergency response, and the expectation is that this is not voluntary. All employees must report to their assignment when called upon.
