Role Summary
We are looking for a Java Production Support Analyst to join our AppBank team, the Technology Division's \"Run-The-Bank\" production management organization. In this specialist role, you will own the stability and performance of systems that support critical business functions, working directly with application owners, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders to analyze, resolve, and prevent production issues.
This is a high-impact technical role where you will identify patterns, drive automation, and help build the tooling and runbooks that make the operation smarter over time.
What You'll Do
•\ Analyze and resolve application issues in a fast-paced production environment, working actively with your team
•\ Debug code and analyze logs to identify defects, discrepancies, and trends
•\ Manage incidents and communicate clearly with users, application owners, and senior stakeholders across all business areas
•\ Improve application stability and performance by identifying recurring failures and advising on permanent fixes
•\ Adopt and leverage machine learning-based tools developed by the AppBank Engineering team to automate failure detection and health restoration
•\ Identify alerts and processes that can be automated, then partner with the Engineering team to implement them
•\ Challenge existing application setups and suggest improvements to stability and processing approaches
•\ Actively participate in the Change Management process to manage risk in the production environment
•\ Build and maintain runbooks to minimize operational errors and improve team fungibility
•\ Develop reports with trending statistics to track and manage application health and support service performance
What You Bring
Required
•\ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
•\ Java (object-oriented programming, applied in dev or production contexts)
•\ Solid understanding of Data Structures and their practical use cases
•\ SQL experience: writing and debugging queries
•\ Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
•\ Strong problem-solving skills: root cause analysis, pattern recognition, and issue resolution in a production or development environment
•\ English (B2+) — you'll work directly with stakeholders in the U.S. and globally
•\ Ability to articulate technical and functional issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to Have
•\ Experience in the Financial Services industry
•\ Exposure to Cluster Computing or Big Data: Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, XRS, or public cloud platforms
•\ Degree specifically in Computer Science
